The Certificate in Biblical Social Work and Human Services provides a foundational academic exploration of the social sciences, integrating professional service delivery with a strong ethical and stewardship-based framework. Designed for students seeking to enhance their capacity for community impact, the program combines rigorous study of sociological principles with the practical application of servant leadership in diverse human service environments. Students will examine the complexities of individual and community challenges, fostering a professional approach that values the inherent dignity of individuals while promoting sustainable social change. By engaging with both foundational theory and contemporary case studies, participants will develop the analytical skills necessary to address systemic issues within an academic and professional context. This certificate emphasizes the intersection of faith-informed ethics and social welfare, encouraging students to act as stewards of resources and advocates for those in need within their respective communities.
The certificate provides introductory academic and applied preparation for faith based biblical social work, human services-support, community-care, outreach, referral, and service-related roles. It does not constitute professional licensure or independent authorization to provide regulated clinical services.

Prior academic performance, including official transcripts from any previously attended postsecondary institutions, will be reviewed as part of the holistic admissions process. Culminating Project The Capstone Project serves as the final academic milestone for the certificate, requiring students to synthesize their learning through the completion of a substantive service-based case study or community outreach proposal. This project focuses on identifying a pressing local social need and designing an evidence-based intervention that aligns with the values of stewardship, justice, and servant leadership. Students are expected to demonstrate academic rigor in their research, data collection, and proposed solutions while reflecting on how their Christian worldview informs their professional ethical framework. In addition to academic deliverables, students must submit a reflective portfolio documenting their personal growth, spiritual formation, and the development of their professional identity.
